Sport Speed/Movement Course

This is a 3 hour practical workshop for Rugby coaches to learn the basic Principles underpinning Speed and Movement for the sport as well as lots of practical ideas to use in training.


Areas Covered In This Workshop

1. Acceleration
How a player should project their COM in multiple directions in order to Accelerate efficiently and then maintain the correct technique when catching a ball.


2. Max Velocity
How to apply force underneath the hips, keep the ankle dorsiflexed and use the arms to maximise speed.


3. Change of Direction
How to apply force outside the COM and lean towards the intended direction of travel when stepping a defender. This will also include the correct technique of how to decelerate.
